“Words ought to be a little wild, for they are an assault on the thoughts of the unthinking.” John Maynard Keynes.
Strange words today on Christmas. A Saviour? Wise men? Angels? Surely, if ever there were “wild words” these qualify.
And yet we are consistently warned in family gatherings today to avoid “wild words.” Do NOT talk about religion or politics.
The above quote is by a noted British economist in 1933. The times they were a-changing and so were his thoughts. His speech, though long, is surprisingly applicable to day, although the proper nouns used are different now; e.g. no more Stalin. His predictions on the forming “Irish Free State” were most definitely wrong.
Mind you wild words do not refer to insults, screaming (unless you’re in the British Parliament), or physicalities. You’d not know that watching the news.
So while this posting may be a bit wild, this may seem to be a good day for it. But an angelic appearance would be most helpful!
